When Sarfaraz Khan broke the record for the highest score in the Harris Shield at the age of twelve, he became well-known.
Sarfaraz, who practices under father and coach Naushad Khan, was called up to the India Under-19 quadrangular series in 2013 following an outstanding season for the Mumbai Under-19 side. He reacted by pursuing South Africa and making a match-winning 101 off 66 balls.
Sarfaraz was then rewarded by being included in the Indian team for the 2014 Under-19 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Sarfaraz was primed to take his career to the next level after amassing 211 runs at an average of 70.33 in six games. Upon purchasing him for INR 50 lakhs in 2015, Royal Challengers Bangalore made him the youngest player to ever participate in the Indian Premier League. A year later, Sarfaraz placed second in the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in terms of runs scored.
